Hello everyone and welcome to the 49th edition of our popular Travel Photography Competition. This week we are reviewing photos published on our Facebook page between 17th and 24th June.
We know that lots of you have been impatiently waiting for the results of the competition and we are really sorry for such irregularity in our writing recently, but since we are on the road, during our 2 month hitch-hiking trip across northern Italy and the Balkan Peninsula, it’s been really hard to find time and the opportunity to write something.
The first winning photo was taken in Albufera Natural Park, Valencia, Spain. The park is home to Spain’s biggest lake and one of the most important wetland areas on the Iberian Peninsula. This part of the country has been traditionally used by rice growers and fishermen to supply ingredients for the best quality Spanish dishes.
It can easily be reached using the Herca bus service.

The second winner in this week’s competition was taken in Portofino, Genova, Italy. Portofino is a picturesque fishing town and recently an upmarket holiday resort, due to its beautiful harbour and celebrity visitors. It become famous in 1950s after the release of a song ”Love In Portofino” by Fred Buscaglione.

And the last photo in this week’s competition comes from Parco del Ticino, Tornavento, also in Italy. It’s a natural reserve established in 1978 and is home to many species of flora and fauna, such as elms, oaks, toads and herons.
